Avocado is a rather unique type of food. While most fruits primarily consist of carbohydrate, avocado is high on healthy natural fats.

It contains up to 58 % fat (natural fat, low in saturated fats), 34 % carbohydrate and 8 % protein.

It provides the body vitamin B6, which helps in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, the chemicals that allow neurons to communicate.

Numerous studies show that it has powerful beneficial effects on health.

  1. Avocado is good for your skin

Pantothenic acid, also known as vitamin B5 is present in avocado. This specific type of vitamin is involved in the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates and improves the quality of the skin. B-complex vitamins and vitamin C are not stored in your body, so you need to replenish them every day.

  1. Rich in fibers

Avocados contain more soluble fiber than most foods do. It also helps stabilize blood sugar levels, and maintain proper weight control.

  1. Rich in protein

Avocados have more protein and less sugar than any other fruit, which helps build muscle and burn fat.

  1. Rich in monounsaturated fats

Shown to reverse insulin resistance and regulate blood sugar levels, avocados and avocado oil are some of the richest sources of monounsaturated fats in the world.

  1. Cardiovascular health

Vitamin B6 and folic acid contained in avocado regulate the homocysteine levels thus reducing the risk of heart disease.

FIVE MINUTES AVOCADO TOAST

Avocados are a healthy way to boost the flavour and texture of your meal. While guacamole is generally the most popular way to eat avocado, you can also use avocado to substitute butter or others saturated fats, you can chop it on a salad or put some into your bowl of soup.

If avocado toast isn’t your weekly routine, try this super easy/ quick recipe to get healthier and to keep you full during the day.

Nothing beats the classic avocado toast; so here is the recipe :

  • 2 slices bread (preferably buckwheat, rye or spelt bread but any bread will do)

  • Half of an avocado

  • 1 lime, cut in half

  • 2 tablespoons of crushed red pepper flakes (depends on your tastebuds)

  • olive oil

  • Himalayan salt

  • Freshly ground pepper

  • Some fresh arugula

Toast some bread and mash half an avocado with a fork in a bowl. Put the mashed avocado on your toasts. Squeeze half a lime on each slice, add a pinch of salt & pepper for taste and a lot of red pepper flakes (best part), and drizzle a tablespoon of olive oil. Finally, add some fresh arugula on top of the mashed avocado.
